I recently retired as a nurse practitioner after 40 years of practice.  In October 2020, I fell off a horse and partially severed my spinal cord. When first injured, I was completely paralyzed. After three and one-half years of physical and occupational therapy at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, I now have limited movement of my left arm. In college, I studied art. With the help of my caregivers, I use a variety of techniques to “paint” backgrounds. I direct my caregivers to cut and paste images I select to the backgrounds I create. My world is largely defined by my home and by the antics of the fish in the tank we have in our dining room. The images of the fish in my work and the images of the anemones are from photos taken by my husband.
