Janna Carter has an MFA in Integrated Design and is fluent in the language and concepts of print, motion, web, audio, video, photography, and writing. Her career was as a graphic designer, art director, and professor, with notable work for clients in Washington DC, such as the Smithsonian, USPS, and Georgetown University. When life served her a disability lemon, she explored new creative recipes for lemonade in her own way and at her own pace. She reignited her passion for photography, creating work that is a vibrant commentary on contemporary imagery. Janna’s photographs are nested in her own colorful and artful stacked and painted frames entering a third dimension as they cantilever from the walls. The photo is the star, and the frame is the best supporting actor.
