Ways to Give
Every year since the Sunnyview Hospital Foundation was formed to encourage and coordinate philanthropic gifts, thousands of neighbors, friends and former patients have made donations to support and enhance the exceptional quality of rehabilitative care being offered at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital.
You can make the Sunnyview Foundation your charity of choice by supporting us in a number of ways, many of which carry positive tax and financial benefits.
And, if you make an cumulative annual gift of $100 or more in a calendar year, you become a member of our prestigious Recognition Societies.
Cash Gifts
You can mail a check to the Sunnyview Hospital Foundation, 1270 Belmont Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12308. If you would like to use your MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover, please call the Foundation office at (518) 382-4586 and a staff member can help you. Stock
Giving appreciated stock to the Foundation offers you significant tax savings. You can avoid paying capital gains tax on the increased value of your stock and you will also receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift.
If the stock is held by a bank or brokerage firm, please notify the Foundation office of your stock gift by calling (518) 382-4586 or via email info@givetosunnyview.org. It is important that you provide the Foundation with the name and contact information for your bank or broker, the anticipated date of the gift of stock, a description of the stock including how many shares you would like to donate, and the estimated value. If your stock is in certificate form, please enclose in one envelope the certificate(s) together with a letter stating the desired purpose of your gift. Do not place any endorsement or assignment language, or any other written notations on the certificates. Enclose in a separate envelope an equal number of stock powers, each bearing only your signature for your name as it appears on the corresponding stock certificates. Do not include any other written information or notations on the stock powers. Send the two separate envelopes to the Sunnyview Hospital Foundation, 1270 Belmont Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12308.

In-Kind Gifts
In-kind gifts, such as gently used home or therapy equipment, are used in several Sunnyview departments, provided there is a need for the gift. If the donation is unsuitable, the Foundation will provide you a suggestion for other potential recipient not-for-profits. We also welcome items such as gift certificates, merchandise, and services that can be used for event prizes.
Sponsorships
We welcome corporate sponsorship or corporate giving at any time. It’s a wonderful way to match your organization with our mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities and the lives of their families. Your company may also sponsor several hospital events held each year including delete one-person art shows, the donor recognition dinner, the volunteer dinner, Day at the Races, add: Celebrating Sunnyview; Sunnyview in Motion; and our bi-annual Art for the View event. All contributions to the Sunnyview Hospital Foundation will be used in accordance with the donor’s interest. Delete: and intent and will be recognized in the Rehabilitation Insight Annual Report and on the hospital Annual Plaque.
