Converting 10,700 sq ft of Sunnyview’s 3Central unit into the region’s only inpatient pediatric rehab unit
Renovating 6 patient rooms designed to accommodate a patient’s parent to room-in with the child
Featuring a 625 sq ft pediatric-specific therapy gym for inpatient and outpatient pediatric therapy
Facility upgrades to accommodate pediatric rehabilitation for patients ages 3-months to 17 years;
Equipped with technology to support the patient’s continued engagement with school, social and community activities.
Opened in 1928, Sunnyview was founded to serve children afflicted with polio. Over the course of our ninety-seven-year history Sunnyview has nimbly adapted to meet the evolving needs of our patients – today is no different. Sunnyview’s Pediatric Unit will be a life-changing investment! Building on Sunnyview’s current strengths we plan to create the region’s only inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation unit specifically designed for pediatric patients.
This is a $8.2M project; the Sunnyview Foundation has committed to raising $2M from corporate and private philanthropy to support this advancement.
